We also have interest in several other oil sands projects, including interests in a producing SAGD project at Hangingstone (operated by Greenfire Resources Operating Corporation) and in Syncrudexe2x80x99s oil sands mining upgrading facility. In addition to our Canadian oil sands business, we have ~300,000 acres of shale gas leases in Northeast British Columbia, an operated natural gas power station in Balzac, Alberta, and interest in a wind farm in Southern Alberta. With offices at all operated asset field locations and in Houston, Calgary is the regional management center for all North American Operations.In the United States, CNOOC International holds a non-operated working interest in approximately 143,000 net acres in the Eagle Ford (South Texas) and 77,000 net acres in the Powder River Basin (Wyoming). These are unconventional shale oil and gas assets. Therefore, we are seeking a Taxation Accountant to join our Finance team in Houston, Texas.Your Background

  • Professional Accounting Designation
  • Minimum 5 years oil and gas accounting/tax experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, strong analytical skills and an ability and desire to problem solve
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications
Your Role with Our Team
  • Preparation of federal and state income/franchise and other tax returns
  • Preparation of monthly tax provision and various analysis for internal reporting
  • Assist with transfer pricing reporting and government audits
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess impact to the Company
  • Preparation of legal entity financial statements and government reporting for all US legal entities
  • Manage the full life cycle of Capital Assets within the US Shale business unit including managing asset subledger; preparing monthly capital accruals; setting up and releasing capital projects; running capital settlement; recording DD&A, lease expirations, impairments, dispositions and derecognitions
  • Semi-annual DD&A rate reset calculations for US Shale business unit
  • Semi-annual ARO reset calculations for US Shale business unit
  • Budgeting and forecasting DD&A and lease expirations for US Shale business unit
