Talent & Culture Manager

At Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, our process begins with selecting the best candidates to join our global team of service professionals, committed to turning moments into memories for our guests. As a Talent & Culture Manager, your primary focus will be championing the recruitment and onboarding process for Fairmont Empress by connecting with local talent pools, guiding our Leaders through the hiring process, and building new strategies to further develop recruitment capabilities. You will also be responsible for coordinating brand specific trainings including orientation.

What you will be doing:
  • Lead and own the recruitment process for hotel
  • Analyze and communicate with Leaders to action their department recruitment needs
  • Support the Talent & Culture department to ensure the property has the right colleague in the right role
  • Coordinate the selection and recruitment of Supervisory and Front Line positions to ensure a smooth onboarding experience
  • Initiate employment contracts, background checks and reference checks
  • Facilitate and maintain matrix of internal movements, transfers, retirements, resignations
  • Lead international recruitment & seasonal staffing initiatives
  • Maintain relationships with local schools, colleges and universities
  • Network with key community stakeholders to promote Fairmont Empress as the employer of choice
  • Engage in Talent & Culture social media initiatives to promote the property as the best place to work
  • Ensure proactive and robust recruitment process through effective forecasting, analytics and communication with department heads
  • Manage Company Acquisition Systems (SmartRecruiter, Indeed, LinkedIn)
  • Post available roles internally and externally to source best talent
  • Manage all new hire paperwork and files
  • Maintain job descriptions and job specifications relevant with current of skill requirements;
  • Input and track data and information into HR Systems
  • Follow and implement all Company and brand established onboarding procedures which ensure new colleagues feel welcome and all team members are prepared for the new colleagues\xe2\x80\x99 arrival;
  • Coordinate and facilitate Company and brand specific orientation programs and training
  • Facilitate Leadership Orientation to support the onboarding of leaders to policies and procedures
  • Work closely with Leaders to ensure all job training processes are in place and are followed
  • Maintain accurate records of leadership training activities and participant information
  • Understand, communicate, implement, and adhere to all Talent & Culture policies & procedures.
  • Support the coordination employee related activities and events.
  • Assist with the day to day administration and coordination of all activities within the Talent & Culture Department
  • Support a safe working environment by ensuring local regulations are upheld for workplace health and safety
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:
  • Degree or Diploma in related field strongly recommended;
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Human Resources;
  • Previous Recruitment role experience an asset;
  • Hotel operation experience is desirable;
  • Knowledge of local labor laws and employment law requirements;
  • Ability to support a collaborative environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with all levels of colleagues;
  • Excellent organization skills, ability to multi-task and maintain confidentiality;
  • Multicultural awareness and able to work with people from diverse backgrounds;
  • Flexible, able to embrace and respond to change effectively;
  • Ability to work independently and has good initiative;
  • Self-motivated, energetic, and participative;
  • Advance Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel is a must
