Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of People & Culture, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will manage the full recruitment cycle in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and assist / act as a back-up to the People & Culture Generalist. You will bring a solid understanding of HR best practices, exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, and a proven ability to build and nurture relationships with both internal and external partners.
Your responsibilities will include sourcing and attracting candidates, coordinating and conducting phone, virtual, and in-person interviews, managing new hire documentation, delivering onboarding sessions and workshops, attending job fairs, and maintaining accurate recruitment data within the HRIS system. In this role, you will be instrumental in strengthening our employer brand to attract, hire, and retain top talent that aligns with our agency's values and mission.
Responsibilities:
Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding for both internal and external positions
Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to meet current and future staffing needs
Collaborate with hiring managers to identify hiring requirements and ensure timely fulfillment of vacancies
Prepare and post job advertisements; draft employment contracts and manage internal job announcements
Conduct candidate sourcing and pre-screening, and facilitate both virtual and in-person interviews
Perform reference checks and employment verifications to support the selection process
Coordinate and lead new hire onboarding, orientation sessions, and the collection of employment documentation
Coordinate practicum and job placements in partnership with educational institutions and external organizations
Represent the agency at job fairs, career events, and community outreach initiatives
Conduct exit interviews and collect recruitment data for the preparation of monthly Board reports
Ensure compliance with employment legislation, human rights regulations, and organizational policies
Maintain confidentiality and uphold the values and reputation of the agency
Perform other related duties as assigned to support the People & Culture department
Qualifications:
Completed post-secondary education from an accredited school in Human Resources or related field. A combination of formal education and experience may be considered
2 years of experience in a recruitment role is preferred
Exceptional interpersonal, organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written)
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfort with learning new systems
Strong attention to detail, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
Advanced knowledge of the immigration process with solid understanding of the various permits available relating to employment
Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and integrity
Adaptable, dependable, and eager to support agency goals
Must be self-motivated to work independently as well as within a team.
