Midland Transport is currently seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist at the Head Office location in Dieppe, NB. The selected candidate will be a driven individual with a strong work ethic and a \xe2\x80\x9cCan Do\xe2\x80\x9d attitude. The detailed-oriented Talent Acquisition Specialist will lead Midland\xe2\x80\x99s full cycle recruitment activities for professional truck drivers and translate hiring needs into strategic recruitment initiatives and implementation. The successful candidate will enjoy managing multiple priorities, taking initiative, leading conversations and exploring new frontiers.

Drivers are an integral component of the supply chain, and the Talent Acquisition Specialist is the first contact into selecting the right drivers to serve our customers. Professional drivers are in increasing demand; the next recruiter will drive our professional driver recruitment program forward!

Qualifications:

• Education Required: Post-secondary education in a related field (business, administration, human resources, or marketing preferred)
• Years of Experience Required:

2 years\xe2\x80\x99 related experience (full cycle recruitment, sales, social media marketing, or administration preferred) * Bilingualism is preferred

• Experience in sourcing best-in-class talent using various recruitment channels including social media, resume mining, networking, and innovative recruitment techniques
• Experience in the transportation industry is preferred, but not required
• Customer focused with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Energetic self-starter who enjoys working in a fast paced, team-oriented environment
• Excellent oral and written communication
• Able to meet deadlines under pressure
• A track record for bringing forward new and creative solutions to recruiting opportunities
• A keen eye for detail and demonstrating a high sense of urgency in delivering high quality customer service

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with Midland\xe2\x80\x99s leadership and operations teams to develop a workforce plan, recruitment strategies and programs that provide for effective recruitment.
• Develop and execute comprehensive recruitment marketing plans to source qualified professional drivers using referral programs, social media platforms, targeted recruitment ads, and maintain candidate pipelines.
• Effectively use the company\xe2\x80\x99s online applicant tracking system (Taleo) to create job postings, track candidate flow for each required requisition.
• Collaborate with hiring managers to support the recruitment lifecycle including posting requisitions, screening candidates, conducting pre-employment assessments, completing reference checks, and completing background checks.
• Evaluate applicants using a variety of screening and assessment techniques to identify qualified applicants, maintaining standards set by the Company.
• Coordinate with the Driver Services team to manage timeliness of practical evaluations, hiring, and orientation.
• Maintain knowledge on all provincial and federal employment regulations (Canada and the USA) as they relate to drivers in the transportation industry.
• Coordinate and attend job fairs, community events, educational institutions, and other recruitment events.
• Compile recruitment data, identify emerging recruitment trends, and prepare reports as required.
