Job Description

The Construction and Equipment Division, a part of the J.D. Irving, Limited's group of companies, is a key player in the North American construction industry. With five operating companies within the division, the group provides heavy equipment and crane services, civil construction, modular home and commercial buildings, and steel and fabrication services to its customers.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Talent Acquisition Partner located in Saint John, NB. This role is eligible for our Hybrid Work Policy, allowing the successful candidate to work both from home and the office.

Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources for the Construction & Equipment Division, the Talent Acquisition Partner will work with Hiring Managers and HR Business Partners to attract and select top talent for the division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ownership and execution of the full cycle recruitment process including creating job postings, managing candidates, administering skills assessments and interviewing.
  • Strategically attract, source and select top talent including salary, hourly and student hires including using unique sourcing strategies such as social and digital media advertising, local community marketing techniques, strategic partnerships, etc.
  • Identify new market opportunities to target top talent.
  • Liaise with Hiring Managers and HR Business Partners to ensure hiring forecasts and needs are current.
  • Plan and execute full scale hiring events with a focus on promoting our brand and opportunities in the market.
  • Build referral networks and candidate pools through school partnerships, internal referrals, and external networking sources.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in business or human resources or relevant operational experience leading and influencing individuals and groups.
  • 1-3 years of related experience in recruiting.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel to company sites.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence others.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills allowing you to manage multiple applicants while anticipating shifts in priorities
  • Ability to initiate and drive processes with a "can-do" attitude.
  • Strong attention to detail and proven customer service skills.
  • Energetic self-starter who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment with the capability to handle multiple priorities at once.
