Location: This position is remote (work-from-home). Successful candidates must reside in Ontario and may be required to travel. About this position: The Talent Acquisition Assistant is responsible for supporting various activities within the recruitment cycle, including (but not limited to):

  • Supports various stages of VON\'s talent acquisition process
  • Manages and monitors candidate workflows, including candidate review and screening, short-listing, and interview scheduling
  • Works closely with Talent Acquisition Specialists and VON hiring managers
  • Manages the Talent Acquisition team\'s shared mailbox to ensure efficient hiring processes
  • Receives, reviews, and processes hiring managers\' Hire form submissions
  • Creates and distributes offer letters and new hire packages as per the Hire form
  • Assists with job fairs, including coordination, preparation, participation, candidate screening, and data entry
  • Administers or supports exit interview process and reporting
  • Completes national organizational turnover reports and conducts analyses
  • Creates national open requisition, candidate pipeline, timeline and other organizational reports in Excel and other software systems
  • Creates and maintains a variety of spreadsheets, forms and templates
  • Troubleshoots applicant tracking system (ATS) issues
  • Collaborates with cross-functional team members and site managers
  • Engages with educational institutes, marketing agencies and software providers for recruitment activities
  • Manages or participates in various VON projects and initiatives
  • Completes other HR activities as assigned
What you\'ll bring to the position:
  • University degree or College diploma with a specialization in Human Resource Management
  • One (1) to three (3) years of professional Human Resources experience; a focus on recruiting and strategic candidate sourcing is preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of HRIS and applicant tracking systems is preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills and experience
  • Maintain HR-related competencies through ongoing training and education
  • A current and original copy of a satisfactory Criminal Records Check is required
  • The ability to speak French is an asset
