Our 2,600 employees are the driving force of our activities and we strive to surround ourselves with dedicated individuals who are proactive and take on responsibility and aim to become leaders in their field.Join us and let\xe2\x80\x99s grow together.About the role:Our North American Legacy Assets are currently seeking a Tailings Advisor to oversee the implementation of our tailings guidance and our Health, Safety, Environment and Community (HSEC) Management Standards and, including policies, systems, performance and auditing functions across our North American Closed Sites (NACS) portfolio.The successful candidate will support site personnel, provide guidance and advice to the NACS management team and be responsible for ensuring our Legacy Assets meet Glencore\xe2\x80\x99s Goals and Objectives related to prevent impacts on health, safety, the environment, communities, cultural heritage, and infrastructure.The position requires a strong understanding of specific international, national, state or local regulations, legislation, or governmental directives, including meeting the requirements of Glencore\xe2\x80\x99s Tailings Storage Facility Framework (TSFF). Additionally, the role will favour an incumbent with technical knowledge and experience in mining, tailings and/or water management.More specifically, you will be tasked with:
Ensure Glencore\xe2\x80\x99s Tailings Storage Facility Policy is adhered to for NACS.
Fully implements Glencore\xe2\x80\x99s Tailings Storage Facility and Dam Management Standard.
Provides guidance and advice to NACS management team, sites and Glencore Corporate.
Supports site personnel with TSF-related projects and activities.
Ensures all TSF related Fatal and Catastrophic Hazards and Critical Control Management plans have been developed and implemented.
Conducts TSF regular risk reviews with Reclamation Managers, SME and Sites.
Ensure all updates and actions from risk reviews are captured and tracked in Risk Manager.
Actively participates in CCV inspections and ensures failures are identified, captured and tracked accordingly.
Ensures Glencore\xe2\x80\x99s and NACS TSF-related audits and reviews are properly scheduled and executed.
Actively participates in TSF audits, assurances and reviews (1st, 2nd and 3rd Party).
Review all findings and actions to ensure correctness and that involved persons are in agreement.
Ensures all findings and actions are monitored and updated on a regular basis.
Provides guidance to sites when addressing actions and ensures actions are appropriately closed out.
Ensures TSF-related data is accurately captured.
Ensures all Glencore\xe2\x80\x99s, regulatory and stakeholder reports are correct and submitted on time.
Act as a contact point for NACS TSF related reporting activities.
Ensure TSF data is kept current and maintained appropriately utilize database systems.
Participate as NACS TSF delegate in Corporate and Copper Department Meetings, Workshops, Training and Focus Groups.
Leads and/or actively participate in site TSF discussions.
Manages all TSF related 3rd party contractors.
Advises and actively participate in developing and implementing Site\xe2\x80\x99s TSF plans.
Develops and deliver site TSF-related training outside of Workhub.
Skills:
A Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s or Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree and a minimum of 7 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in tailings, geological, civil, hydrotechnical, mining Engineering, or related sectors are preferred.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication, consulting skills, collaboration and leadership skills and the ability to work independently across all Copper division functions and levels, and a willingness to learn new skills.
Able to manage and prioritize several assignments at one time with a view to delivery of quality products on time.
Demonstrated technical excellence in geotechnical or hydrological engineering.
Strong organizational skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on achieving results.
