The System Architect applies their well-rounded and in-depth understanding of systems (including architecture and workflow capabilities and limitations for Intelerad solutions, partner solutions, and enterprise medical imaging systems in general, operated in a variety of environments) to define how Intelerad designs, delivers, and operates enterprise medical imaging systems, and to act as a resource for relevant topics to people in other departments. The System Architect uses their knowledge, critical thinking skills, and sound engineering principles to develop and maintain assets such as standards, blueprints, procedures, best practices, training materials, and proofs of concept. The System Architect understands and contributes to the vision and goals set by the Architecture Team, the Technology Delivery Division, and Intelerad Leadership. The System Architect is constantly increasing the breadth and depth of their knowledge, aspiring for mastery in their ever-expanding areas of expertise.

  • Maintain and deepen comprehensive technical understanding of Intelerad solutions, including supported workflows, integrations and optimal hardware and software configurations
  • Develop architecture blueprints, standards and procedures for the efficient delivery of Intelerad solutions
  • Cooperate with Security to develop security blueprints, standards and procedures for Intelerad solutions
  • Cooperate with Infrastructure to develop infrastructure blueprints, standards and procedures for Intelerad solutions, especially in context of Managed Services Offering (MSO)
  • Design and execute proofs of concept for new technologies and procedures
  • Develop training assets for Intelerad staff and partners to design and operate Intelerad solutions
  • Maintain a library of supported system designs, workflows, integrations, best practices, requirements, guides, etc.
  • Collaborate with Intelerad Pre-Sales and partners to produce new supported designs when there are no appropriate assets in the library, or when the Intelerad Executive Leadership Team asserts that a custom one-off solution is appropriate.
  • Provide architecture knowledge to other technical teams to support with the most challenging technical issues
  • Perform statistical analysis of systems to understand capacity and performance limitations and use those findings to build models for resource estimation and provide recommendations for improvements
  • Collaborate with R&D, Q&A and Product Management on the product roadmap and maintenance/design issues
  • Travel to customer sites when deemed appropriate (e.g. workflow analysis, complex issues, political reasons)
  • Participate in projects or relevant activities deemed necessary by the organization.


Qualifications
Employment Prerequisites
  • University degree in science, technology, engineering, math, or equivalent industry experience
  • Five (5) or more years of technical experience working with complex and distributed systems
  • Two (2) or more years of technical experience working with enterprise imaging systems
  • Previous experience with high performance, low latency virtualization
  • Demonstrated skills in authoring effective technical documentation
  • Approaches challenges as opportunities and sees every day as an opportunity to become a little bit better
  • Team player with high levels of emotional intelligence, that can work with and influence others without direct authority
  • A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas of improvement, and bottlenecks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate technical subjects to a broad range of stakeholders
  • Application of critical thinking principles to solve problems and complete tasks
  • Strong technical aptitude, with the ability to build and understanding of complex systems and workflow
Desired Competencies
  • Exposure to concepts of radiology workflows, integrations, and migrations
  • Exposure to concepts of requirements development, system architecture and design, and technology qualification
  • Systems administration (Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Windows, VMware, AWS, Azure)
  • Understand role/impact of physical components used in enterprise systems (storage, compute, network)
  • Understand relationship between physical and virtual layers in business critical systems
  • Understand security concepts (physical, software, network, encryption, authentication, authorization, etc.)
  • Understand enterprise medical systems and relevant standards (PACS, RIS, DICOM, HL7, IHE, etc.)
  • Understand enterprise relevant regulatory requirements (HIPAA, HITECH, ISO 27001, QMS, etc.)
  • Processes automation and tool development with high-level languages and/or scripting languages
  • Proactive identification of problems and opportunities for improvement
  • Generally keeping abreast of technology advancements (hardware and software)
  • Database design and administration principles (Postgres, Sybase, MS SQL Server)
  • Experience with Architecture practices and frameworks (e.g. TOGAF)
