What you'll do:



This position is currently based at our Head Office in Melville, Saskatchewan. The position reports to the Manager, Application Services and is responsible for analyzing, designing, testing and coding programs of Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation's (SCIC's) systems.


Provide Business Systems Analysis by taking high level business requirements and composing detailed solution requirements for application software implementation. Provide leadership and act as a liaison between business and systems development, recommending software solutions and application development processes, and providing work estimates for application development. Provide application software design by analyzing current system and database architecture, and planning and documenting the integration of new application software processes and databases. Provide software development by writing, unit testing, and maintaining application software. Identify and analyze problems, proposing alternatives and implementing solutions with respect to both manual processes and application software. Conduct application software impact analysis, presenting alternatives, recommendations and estimates. Keep up to date on current technology and best practices.

Qualifications:



To be successful in this position you need a diploma in Computer Systems Technology with a minimum of two years experience in computer programming and systems' analysis in a business environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered. Knowledge and experience in Business Analysis, to translate business requirements into a functioning solution. Knowledge of database structure, data integrity and data modelling as it relates to application software development. Understanding of SQL with the ability to write high performing SQL to solve complex problems. Demonstrated experience in object-oriented programming; preference with a background using .NET or Java. A criminal record check is required. Should the successful candidate participate in the Crop Insurance or AgriStability Programs, their account must be in good standing. Must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel throughout the province when necessary.
