About the role

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary Full-Time Systems Analyst I, Configuration and Deployment Analyst to join our dynamic IT Technology Delivery team in Ottawa. The work of a Systems Analyst I is integral to Canadian Blood Services\xe2\x80\x99 role as Canada\xe2\x80\x99s Lifeline.
The IT Technology Delivery team scope is to develop and deliver innovative solutions and services that will increase the agility of Canadian Blood Services to respond to emerging business needs.
In this role, you will provide technical and analyst expertise to new application development projects and in support of existing systems. You will be a part of the Technology Delivery team to work on IT deliverables for the CBS Plasma program and when required, work on other Technology delivery projects and programs such as NRPR IIa Regina and Edmonton, CMDC and Digital DSCM project.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Member of the Technology Delivery team for configuration, deployment and technical support for IT equipment deployed as part of CBS Plasma program or others as required.
  • Perform IT Device configuration and testing.
  • Provide exceptional customer service in person, via phone and email as appropriate
    • Plasma and whole blood clinics.
    • On-Site Support for mobile and permanent collection events as required.
  • Perform troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis of customer issues.
  • Participates with OS business analysts, programmer/analysts, IT Services and OS customers on new system development initiatives.
  • Develops and advises IT colleagues on various hardware and software standards, system architecture and industry developments.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, preferably a related computer science degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum one to five years of experience in a related IT role.
  • Microsoft Windows, OS install/imaging and configuration.
  • Experience on multiple windows hardware platforms Laptops, PC Minis, Tablets and PDAs.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Networking, TCP/IP configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of Wi-Fi and Cellular internet technology.
  • Experience in Office 365 SharePoint, Excel, Word, MS Access.

  • Excellent problem solving and trouble shooting ability.
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with customers/users and project team members.
  • Work will normally be performed at 2540 Lancaster Road, Ottawa.
  • You may be required occasionally to work shift work to cover the national operational business hours which are 6:00am to 11:00pm.
  • This position will require you to travel to sites outside of the Ottawa region to provide on-site IT deployment and support.
