CMLS Technology Solutions team provides technical expertise and dedicated support for all IT functional areas, including network set-up, development and production applications and services, and daily maintenance tasks pertaining to the data centre environments and all of our corporate office locations. About the Role:
Systems Analysis
Help to gather business requirements for various technology projects and initiatives
Document and contribute to technical designs and project plans for project initiation
Systems implementation, operation, and administration
Manage and implement projects and initiatives
Develop and maintain a standardized operational framework to include procedures, guidelines, compliance, and reporting activities
Perform and support operational duties as required
Security operational analysis and reporting
Enhance and operate Security related operational and reporting processes, ensuring adherence to service level agreements, and agreed deadlines
Identify and contribute to security related solutions based upon corporate objectives and corporate governance
Customer and team support
Pro-actively assist the technical support specialists with support requests when required
Researching and resolving difficult and complex problems
Analyzing and identifying trends in issue reporting and devising preventative solutions
Mentoring other support personnel on hardware and software problem analysis and resolution
Technical analysis and troubleshooting
Perform configuration and support for a wide range of devices and applications, including but not limited to: Desktops, Laptops, Servers, Printers, Telephones, Mobile devices, and applications
Work with team or independently on IT projects, operations, and continuous improvement initiatives
Communication and time management
Communicate effectively and pro-actively at all levels
Assist other IT team members when required
Provide after-hours service as required
This role is for you if you have:
Understanding of compliance, disaster recovery planning and testing, auditing, risk management, business resumption planning, and contingency planning is important.
Understanding of secure and effective access controls, authentication, password management, DNS, cryptography fundamentals, ICMP, IPv6, public key infrastructure, Linux, Windows servers, VMWare, SCCM, network mapping, and network protocols.
Expertise but not limited to the following technologies, VMware/vSphere/vCentre/Horizon, Unix, Linux (Sun, HP, Redhat), Windows 2003/2008/2012/2016, MS DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Perl, KSH, BASH, Scripting, Storage Implementation and Administration (NAS, SAN), Backup Technologies (Disk, Tape, Cloud), Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS
Technologies that support a strong security posture for a complex infrastructure.
Solid knowledge of business risk, risk assessment and risk-based decision making
Technical acumen including but not limited to: OSI, IT infrastructure, cloud, application development languages, tools and frameworks, database technologies, web technologies, next gen mobile, network architecture, enterprise architecture, and directory services
Security technology acumen including but not limited to: firewall, intrusion detection, cyber-attack tools and defenses, encryption, certificate authority, web filtering, anti-malware, anti-phishing, identity and access management, multi factor authentication.
Ability To:
Ability to share knowledge and buid strong relationships with other support teams members
Demonstrate strong interpersonal, oral communication skills, written communication skills with a strong customer service orientation
Balance operational tasks with project and KTLO work.
Ability to work indepentantly with little guidance
Ability to break and completed large and complex work streams (Problems, Projects, Operaional Tasks)
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in high-pressure situations.:
Completed a University degree or equivalent work experience. A degree in Computer Science or Engineering is an asset but not required;
More than 5 years work experience.
Experience with incident and change management systems
Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
Supported windows based enterprise applications and have experience in supporting the following:
VMWare Server Virtualization technology
Network administration including the support of Firewalls, network switches and routers.
Experience in managing, deploying and using cloud service (Microsoft Azure experience an asset)
Are experienced and knowledgeable in information technology information library (ITIL) and or COBIT methodologies;
Financial services or FinTech industry experience is considered an asset.
