Position Title: Systems Administrator Department: IT Reports To: Manager, Enterprise Architecture/Admin
Job Summary:
The ATS Corporate IT department is responsible for the delivery of critical enterprise-wide IT systems and services. As a member of the IT Infrastructure team, the incumbent is responsible for implementing a wide variety of technical solutions and managing day-to-day operations to ensure the ongoing availability, reliability and security of the ATS information assets in a cost-effective manner. The Systems Administrator role is responsible for a wide variety of information technologies, including Active Directory, Office 365, Azure, Cloud Services, Windows Servers, Storage Area Network (SAN), backup systems, virtualized server (VMware, Hyper-V), database (MS SQL), MDM, system monitoring, certificates, and Automation software. The role requires some project management skills as the incumbent will need to plan and execute several different projects. The role is also involved in Data Centre infrastructure operations such as the UPS, power distribution, cooling systems and physical security devices at our different data centers.

What You Will Do:
Maintain all hardware and software services supported by the IT Technical Services team including but not limited to: Enterprise servers, Active Directory including Domain Controllers, Certificates, Virtualization, Azure, Office 365, Windows Servers, Database Servers, SAN, SFTP, anti-virus, MDM, JIRA, Cloud Services, system monitoring and core applications such as ERP
Regularly visit ATS Data Centers (southern Ontario) to preform site checks/audits, infrastructure operations, rack and cable equipment, or replace failed drives
Implement platform level security in accordance with corporate security policies and processes and participate in scheduled security compliance audits
Lead projects as assigned. Activities include developing project proposals, preparing detailed project plans, developing budget estimates, funding requests, preparing status reporting, assisting other team members, etc
Participate in M&A activity and projects are needed (Travel may be required)
Hardware and software planning and selection, including upgrades and replacements
Deploy on-premises (Physical and Virtual) or IaaS servers as required
Provide database support for core applications
Ensure proper registration of devices and licensing compliance
Maintain documentation covering systems that the IT Technical Services team supports, including but not limited to servers / system software, System Standards, Operations procedures, etc
Participate in regular tests (i.e., yearly) of our Data Centre disaster recovery plan (DRP) that meets applicable business and regulatory requirements
Adhere to all corporate IT policies, practices and procedures as required. This includes information security, change control and other related policies
Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct or corporate policies and procedures
Provide support to other IT Corporate Systems and regional teams as needed by acting as level 2 support for all assigned problems. Collaborate with other IT and business teams in troubleshooting critical incidents
Ensure all system problems are logged and tracked in accordance with problem management procedures. Participate in trend / root cause analysis and correction
Ensure all support tickets are assigned and completed within agreed upon service levels
What You Will Need:
Education
University degree or college diploma in a related discipline or relevant work experience in the IT Systems Administration and IT Operations field.
Certification such as Microsoft, Azure, VMware or other similar certifications relating to the job functions are desirable
Experience
Knowledge of server platforms, virtualization, storage, certificates, and Microsoft operating systems
Experience with Cloud Technologies such as Azure, Office 365, etc
Experience with PowerShell scripting
Experience supporting mobile device management systems
Knowledge of technical management processes (change control, disaster recovery planning, security administration and best practices)
Knowledge of related Windows Server, network, and operations disciplines
Knowledge of current and emerging IT technologies across a broad range of IT disciplines, including, hardware, software, networking, operating systems, applications development and database management
Working knowledge of project management best practices
Knowledge of key business processes and a strong understanding of the technical requirements for those key processes
Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
Experienced working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required
Excellent analytical, mathematical and creative problem-solving skills
Must be able to travel to other ATS sites (NA, Europe, and Asia) and training conferences as deemed necessary
