About the Opportunity
We are looking for a Systems Administrator to join our IT Infrastructure Team. As the successful candidate, you will work remotely from your home office based in the Saskatoon, SK area, in order to provide on-site support to our Saskatoon area locations, plus virtual support to our head office team located in St. Brieux, SK. Travel to St. Brieux approximately once per month will be required. (Candidates local to the St. Brieux area would also be considered.)
As a Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for providing foundational IT support for the IT Infrastructure and Cybersecurity teams and play a critical role in maintaining the day-to-day functionality of the IT environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
Identifying and resolving basic technical issues, escalating more complex problems to higher-level administrators as needed
Performing routine maintenance tasks, hardware and software updates, system monitoring and vulnerability management
Maintaining documentation for system configurations and procedures
Following security protocols and best practices to assist the IT team with threat handling and security monitoring
Collaborating with other systems administrators and IT team members
Assisting with IT operations as needed, in order to contribute to a stable and efficient IT infrastructure that supports the organization\'s needs
About You
As our ideal candidate, you will need 1-3 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor\'s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
You will also need the following knowledge and qualifications to perform this role successfully:
Solid understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems
Understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN
Working knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware
Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell
Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Continuous improvement mindset, including keeping current on IT trends
Effective prioritization and time management skills
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Experience working with Cloud and Premise Infrastructure are assets
Valid driver\'s license
Willingness/ability to work remotely from a home office based in the Saskatoon area (those located in the St. Brieux area would also be considered for a hybrid work arrangement)
