Position - Systems Administrator (1 year contract)

Position Summary



Reporting to the Vice President, the Systems Administrator will be responsible for coordinating, planning, and managing technology related activities in the organization and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of an organization's computer systems and networks. This includes managing servers, software, and hardware, maintaining network security, troubleshooting issues, and providing technical support daily. The candidate will provide guidance in determining the IT needs of the organization and is responsible for implementing computer systems to fulfill the organization's information systems requirements, identifying technology gaps, risks, and opportunities.

Responsibilities



Systems Administration/Management

Stay abreast of key industry and technology trends and provide thought leadership throughout the organization. Ensure integrity by performing back-ups, restore and recovery procedures. Maintain inventory of installed software, hardware, manage software licensing and follow proper procedures for the disposal of electronic assets. Maintain IT documentation procedures, standards, best practices, settings, installation sequences and back-out instructions. Technical Service, Training and Support Maintain and update onsite telephone systems Install, test and customize software products, providing training regarding data availability, data entry, data retrieval and database concepts and to provide advice to users on technical and operating problems. Identify and act on opportunities to improve and update software and systems Prepare ongoing reports in an accurate and timely fashion including but not limited to: Funder and internal reports as needed. Perform information system administration, developing data management guidelines for use/maintenance to ensure information security, accessibility, all systems to comply with YES standards, policies and guidelines.

Organizational Responsibilities

Supports the values of YES, fosters a team-building environment and represents the organization in a professional manner. Prepares for and actively participates in all staff meetings. Adheres to all YES policies and procedures and ensures confidentiality is maintained on all client, personnel, financial and other agency matters Qualification Implementing security policies and procedures, monitoring for security breaches, and maintaining the integrity of data and networks. Set up and monitor backup systems, develop and test disaster recovery plans. Restore systems and data in case of failure. Keep track of system documentation (configurations, procedures) and generate reports on system usage and incidents. Assist end-users with technical support, diagnosing, and resolving hardware and software issues, ensuring system uptime.

Qualifications:



Strong experience in managing Windows server environments: managing AD, DNS, RD Gateway, Group Policies, virtualization technologies and security best practices. Proficient with Networking concepts including: firewalls (Cisco ASA), switches/routers/Wi-Fi equipment, telephone equipment; knowledge of TCP/IP (subnets, ports), SSL. Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Azure Cloud - SharePoint, Exchange, Teams, etc. Working knowledge of HTML and MySQL. Experience working with a Content Management System (CMS) - WordPress, etc. PC hardware, Printers, scanners, computer peripherals.
