Position Overview




We're looking for a System Engineering Coordinator to join our team--a great entry point for an engineering graduate eager to dive into real-world projects. In this role, you'll learn how engineering, procurement, production, and quality teams work together to bring complex, custom manufacturing projects to life.


You'll play a key role in keeping projects organized, resources aligned, and workflows running smoothly, while gaining exposure to areas like instrumentation, controls, and software systems.


We're looking for someone who's curious, detail-oriented, and excited to work across teams--collaborating with engineers, vendors, and clients to make sure everything connects and stays on track. This is a chance to build coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills in a hands-on environment, while learning from experienced technical teams.

What you will be doing:



Production & Resource Planning

Develop and maintain detailed production schedules aligned with project timelines and milestones. Coordinate labor, equipment, and materials to ensure smooth project execution. Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and operations to optimize resource utilization. Track workloads across multiple concurrent projects; adjust schedules to mitigate bottlenecks. Identify risks and constraints early, and recommend actionable solutions.

Scheduling & Cross-Team Coordination

Build integrated schedules encompassing engineering design, fabrication, assembly, and testing. Track project progress in real time and communicate updates to key stakeholders. Ensure production activities align with engineering priorities and delivery targets. Manage changes in scope or priority with agility, updating plans accordingly. Define and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), lead times, and throughput metrics.

Collaboration & Communication

Serve as the central liaison for all scheduling and planning inquiries. Coordinate closely with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to align on timelines and deliveries. Prepare and deliver status reports, forecasts, and planning recommendations to senior leadership.

Technical & Process Optimization

Interpret engineering drawings, technical documentation, and specifications to sequence work accurately. Ensure appropriate task sequencing based on instrumentation, software, and manufacturing requirements. Utilize ERP/MRP systems to track inventory, resource availability, and project execution. Develop and refine automated tools (e.g., Python, VBA, SQL) to improve planning workflows. Standardize data storage and documentation practices across production planning processes. Design and maintain real-time dashboards to visualize production performance and resource utilization.

Who are we looking for:



You're highly skilled in MS Project, MS Excel, MS Word Ability to read and interpret architectural, mechanical, instrumentation and electrical drawings Experience in project scheduling techniques, resource capacity planning, and risk mitigation. Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems. Strong analytical and multitasking abilities; thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments. Experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, VBA, SQL) for workflow optimization - Nice to have Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across disciplines.

What'll help you succeed?



1-3 years of relevant experience in systems engineering and/or project management You have good knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, building construction, and/or steel fabrication You've earned a Degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Systems, or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university or college You've worked in the Gas Turbine testing industry (desirable) You're eligible for a Membership with Professional Engineers Ontario Background in systems engineering , aerospace, gas turbine, or industrial automation sectors.
