This role provides an exciting opportunity to join a highly successful container terminal operation on the East Coast of Canada. Principal Accountabilities:
Document and organize systems, processes, procedures, application flows.
Collaborate with the solution architecture team to oversee and make informed decisions regarding solutions, including applications, platforms, and databases. Ensure seamless integration and determine the optimal approach to address various requests and issues.
Manage small to medium IT architecture and development projects.
Codify, when necessary, simple solutions for internal company and IT area necessities.
Collaborate with the service desk team for effective decision-making and support of the company's infrastructure.
Assess existing systems through regular reviews to ensure their continued support for the organization. This involves understanding the organization's needs and project goals, engaging with users to determine their requirements, and aligning these needs with the overall requirements of the company's systems.
Effectively solve problems, design, test, implement new systems, manage projects, and ensure seamless IT changes
Produce specifications and provide training for new or modified systems.
Critical Qualifications/Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate must possess a combination of technical expertise, business acumen, and project management skills. They must be able to analyze how well software, hardware, and the broader IT systems fit the business, write requirements for new systems, and help implement them and monitor their effectiveness.
Excellent technical skills with the ability and enthusiasm to learn new environments, technologies and procedures
Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation and teamwork skills.
Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Java, .net, HTML, Node, Power Apps
T-SQL, PL/SQL
SQL Server, Oracle (preferably DB2, MySQL)
iis, Apache (preferable Websphere)
