POSITION: System Administrator, Enterprise Systems (Replacement)

REPORTS TO: Manager IT Operations

SALARY: $67,756 - $79,725

ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT:

The System Administrator\xe2\x80\x99s role is to monitor, maintain and support the organization\xe2\x80\x99s core business systems through implementation best practices and supported procedures. Duties focus on working with enterprise applications that the organization uses for business operations. The System Administrator is also responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing the change management of processes required for the support of assigned systems necessary for business operations.

MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategy & Planning

  • Ensure that enterprise applications meet business requirements and goals, fulfills user requirements, and identifies and resolves systems issues
  • Participate in the systems change management process to support enterprise systems
  • Defines methodologies for the design, development, and implementation of applications
  • Develops and implements application optimization for business process requirements
  • Develops plans for system improvements for management approval and implements approved changes
Acquisition & Deployment
  • Recommend any additional hardware or software requirements needed for successful system deployments, improvements, configuration, or maintenance
  • Coordinate and assist with contract negotiations for related support, services, and subscriptions
  • Liaise with vendors and support providers for prompt rectification of any problems or emergencies
  • Evaluate incidents and issues in order to identify potential problem areas and make the appropriate recommendations
  • Assist in long term (multi-year) budgeting and forecasting to support the enterprise systems both operational and capital
Operational Management
  • Serves as a systems administrator and technical SME for Ontario Northland enterprise applications
  • Evaluate, install, configure, and deploy enterprise applications, systems software, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the enterprise
  • Collaborate with internal and 3rd party analysts, designers, and system owners in the testing of software programs and applications
  • Ensure that any integration into systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications
  • Perform daily monitoring and troubleshooting of the systems including performance management; install and configure patches and upgrades as required
  • Manage and maintain user access control and permissions. Establish appropriate access, permissions, and menus for system users
  • Prepare and deliver activity and progress reports on systems health
  • Provide tier 3 support on assigned enterprise applications
  • Provide recommendations on systems improvement and enhancements
  • Develop reports for end users using standard reporting tools and makes reports available to appropriate users
  • Assists with end user training and develops support documentation
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager IT Operations
REQUIREMENTS:
  • College or university graduate in a business or technology field, or equivalent experience/certification
  • 5+ years of direct experience administering enterprise-level applications and integrated business systems (SharePoint Online/OnPrem, Microsoft Azure Environment experience, HR Performance Management Applications, Incident Management Applications)
  • Experience with ERP systems, Quest Kace Systems Management, EAM systems, MRP, HRIS, timekeeping, EGIS systems an asset
  • Enterprise cloud (SaaS) and Enterprise business process experience
  • Proven experience in overseeing the direction, development, and implementation of enterprise software solutions
  • Experience with Infor Cloudsuite or Enterprise Edition v 11.x EAM and ERP products is considered an asset
  • Application security management skills and experience
  • Knowledge and experience with MS SQL Databases
  • Experience with reporting tools such as SQL Server Reporting Service, Power BI, Cognos ReportNet (EAM Advanced Reporting)
  • Ability to write Flex SQL, inboxes, KPI queries and tabular SQL for Cognos an asset
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio and Project)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines
  • Awareness of emerging IT trends and directions
