The
Enterprise Systems Administrator
role designs, implements, monitors and maintains NTPC's core line of business supporting enterprise applications to ensure high levels of confidentiality, integrity and availability. Enterprise applications are those required for the operation of IT service delivery but not normally directly used by non-IT Staff. These include
Hybrid Azure Active Directory

Microsoft Exchange Online
,
ShoreTel
,
IIS
,
Freshservice
,
Microsoft Endpoint Manager
,
Defender ATP
,
Intune
and
Solarwinds Orion
. Other platforms that support IT service delivery like Configuration Management, Operations Management, Asset Management and Change Management are within shared responsibility scope of this role. The Enterprise Systems Administrator will also be responsible for administering the full suite of
Citrix Technologies
including
CVAD2024
and
Netscaler
devices. These responsibilities include gathering and analyzing data in support of systems management, operation, maintenance, and reporting. This role will also be involved in the development and testing of new small projects on an ad-hoc basis as determined by the Manager, IT Applications & Support in collaboration with the Junior Project Manager, IT.
Responsibilities: Execute the release of approved and tested patches, and enhancements to existing applications, and software.
Manage, evaluate and administer
Active Directory
,
Microsoft Endpoint Manager
and
Microsoft Exchange
in accordance with the change process and schedule.
Manage, evaluate and administer the
Citrix
suite of technologies to provide availability to NTPC's ERP and Operational software systems that meet or exceed business demands around access, reliability, performance and security.
Identify and mitigate vulnerabilities and system security alerts discovered in
Defender ATP.
Administer and configure
Solarwinds Orion
network monitoring system and database.
Monitor and mitigate application, systems and database alerts using Solarwinds Orion.
Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Undergraduate Degree in a relevant STEM field
OR
at least
five (5) years of related systems administration experience
, AND
f
ive (5) years of
direct experience
in designing, administering and supporting a Citrix environment.
Equivalencies maybe considered.
Relevant certifications favored
(i.e.
Citrix CCP, Microsoft Enterprise Administrator Expert, VMware VCP,
etc.*)
Skills in SQL database development, analysis, and query / report development
are considered an asset.
Command line tool proficiency in PowerShell
.
Working knowledge of maintaining and enhancing enterprise applications
, including:
Azure Active Directory (hybrid), M365/Azure, ShoreTel, IIS, Endpoint Manager/Intune, and Solarwinds Orion
.
Knowledge of various
web hosting platforms and Content Management Systems
.
Background in administering and supporting VMware
would be an asset.
Experience with thin client hardware configuration and supporting Terminal Server and Citrix environment.
Good communication, customer service and problem-solving skills/root cause analysis to train and assist users in identifying needs and resolving problems, often involving conveying technical information to non-technical users.
Ability to work in a team environment in planning and administering Information Technology Group activities and programs.
Mature interpersonal and team building skills to collaborate effectively as a member of the Information Technology team.
Position requires good organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively and to handle multiple tasks at the same time to meet system application and client support requirements involving several different work locations.
Possess analytical skills and can transfer user needs/wants into system requirements and solutions.
Class 5 driver's license.
Satisfactory criminal record check.
Must be legally allowed to live & work in Canada (Northwest Territories) without employer sponsorship.
This is a bargaining unit position. Salary for this position ranges from $57.85/hour - $70.28/hour, in addition to a location allowance of approximately $3,823 per annum. We offer a comprehensive benefits package which includes health and dental benefits, disability insurance, life insurance, paid sick days and a defined benefits pension plan.
This position is located in Hay River, NT, and requires the candidate to work on-site; this is NOT a remote position.
