As a Syndications Operations Analyst:

You will be responsible for assisting our Relationship Managers and Syndication Operations team by translating requests involved in the daily administration and operation of syndicated transactions.

The successful candidate will have experience in analyzing lending proposals in medium to large real estate & Construction Financing, lending in Hospitality industry and General Industry (working capital financing).

The daily accountabilities of this role will be to coordinate requests on syndicated files, collaborate with Operations, Business Credit and Business Banking Centers, and review relevant documentation on syndicated transactions.

What you will do:

Support Syndications Operations through reviewing and translating complex credit applications, relevant syndication documentation, and requirements to the processing team for fulfillment or when the case, coordinating with the Relationship Manager if further action/information/clarification is required.

Monitor the credit applications and changes to credit applications and bringing regular updates to Syndication Operations team is also a priority.

Prepare new accounting spreadsheets and authorized loan spreadsheets for new transaction closings for record-keeping purposes for the Syndicated files.

Consult with Business Banking Centres (BBCs) and Structured Finance teams to understand the operational requirements for new transactions, and to coach/advise the BBCs where appropriate.

Prepare draw requests and coordinate draws with the Business Banking team where appropriate (gathering documentation and posting in iLend under relevant Draw request.)

Assist the Senior Manager Syndication Operations on communication and subject matter expertise when it comes to problem solving and errors, as well as process design and audit.

How you will succeed:

Education & Experience

Post-secondary education in Business, Economics or related field and/or related job training, with excellent knowledge of financial accounting, financial acumen and lending principles.

Previous experience in a Business Banking role, with syndicated transactions is a major asset.

Experience with iLend loan origination system and Encore.

Experience/training in the development of reporting and analytics.

Experience in conducting analysis and working with diverse data sets, both structured and unstructured.

Demonstrated interest and experience in corporate responsibility, sustainability, environment, governance and social impact.

Knowledge

Proficiency with MS Office Suite including Excel and PowerPoint is required.

Knowledge of rules, regulations and trends in the financial services industry.

Good knowledge of banking systems and business account operating procedures.

Ability to work independently with confidence, as well as collaboratively with others, with a strong commitment to member service.

Possesses a strong attention to detail; be concise without comprising the facts.

Ability to meet established schedules and deadlines on time and on budget.
