The Faculty of Social Work at the University of Regina invites applications for one Sessional Lecturer to teach the following blended delivery (synchronous via zoom & asynchronous) course during the Fall 2025 semester:



SW 880 400 Quantitative Methods in Social Work Research



This course will provide an overview of design and methodology options in quantitative research with an emphasis on the application to social welfare policy and social work practice issues. In addition to the methodological issues, the course will review the appropriate use and interpretation of statistical techniques in social work research.




The course will be delivered as a blended course, with remote synchronous sessions taught via Zoom on predetermined dates and times (as outlined in the schedule below), and asynchronously through the UR Courses (Moodle) Platform. During weeks when no synchronous Zoom sessions are held, students will work on online learning modules and assignments. The instructor is expected assist students in their learning during this time as per the Course Syllabus.

Zoom synchronous sessions are scheduled on Tuesdays 4.15pm-7pm (CST) on the following dates.

The semester class period is from September 2nd, 2025 to December 5th, 2025 with the final exam period running from Dec 9 - 22, 2025.



Finalizing the course outline based on the already developed course content; evaluating and grading student work, and submitting student grades by the required deadline. Teaching course content that follows the course description, established learning objectives, and university academic guidelines. Facilitating student learning during synchronous and asynchronous sessions. Encouraging and maintaining a safe and collaborative classroom environment. Providing regular support to students on course work during office hours, or by appointment. Consulting with the Associate Dean Research and Graduate Programs on academic or student- related matters as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

Min graduate degree in social work (MSW) or related disciplines; doctorate in social work or related disciplines Teaching and scholarly knowledge, and experience in the content area of the course Proficient in using UR Courses and Zoom Platforms
Physical Demands Pay Grade Faculty Sessional Salary Range As per URFA Collective Agreement Status Term Work Hours
