Job Summary
The Sustainability Execution Coordinator is responsible for the execution and day to day operations to achieve the Sustainability goals and KPIs outlined in the Acadia Food Plan and any sustainability programs and commitments for foodservices at Acadia. These programs align to our Compass Group Canada Planet Promise commitments, to achieve Net Zero carbon emissions by 2050.
Now, if you were to come on board as our Sustainability Execution Coordinator, we'd ask you to do the following for us:

• Achieving Zero Waste Certification in the dining hall
• Ensuring the use of compostable and reusable packaging, including increasing diversion rates to the proper management streams
• Managing the WINNOW Food Waste Management tracking and reporting technology
• Co-ordinating monthly Local Procurement reporting
• Managing the onsite container garden to provide hyper local produce year round
• Developing and showcasing partnerships with local farmers and suppliers
• Working with the culinary team to develop custom recipes focused on local ingredients
• Ensuring retail concepts are designed with a sustainability focus
• Run information sessions on campus regarding campus initiatives, participate in campus sustainability activities
• Promote Fair Trade Campus Certification and Organic Campus Certification

• 3+ years of relevant work experience
• Experience and knowledge of food service and hospitality operations is preferred
• A desire to drive change and make an impact
• An energetic, curious, continuous learner with an interest and knowledge of sustainability in food supply chains
• Highly organized, results oriented with a proven ability to execute on projects with analytical/strategic thinking skills
• Ability to communicate with all levels in an organization with a focus on a collaborative approach, support students when needed.
• Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
• Self-starter, proactive and able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
• Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Bilingual is a plus
