Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Maker to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a keen understanding of sushi-making techniques. This role is essential in delivering high-quality sushi to our customers, ensuring that every dish meets our standards of excellence. The Sushi Maker will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, collaborating with other kitchen staff to create delicious and visually appealing sushi dishes.

Responsibilities

Prepare and assemble sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards. Ensure all food preparation adheres to food safety and sanitation guidelines. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and assist in ordering supplies as needed. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours. Stay updated on current trends in sushi preparation and presentation. Assist in training new kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and food safety practices.

Experience

Previous experience in food preparation or cooking within the food industry is preferred. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices for handling raw fish and other ingredients. Experience working in a restaurant or fast-paced kitchen environment is a plus. Knowledge of meal preparation techniques, particularly related to sushi-making, is highly desirable. Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on quality presentation.

Pay: $17.20-$19.00 per hour
