We are looking for a passionate and skilled Sushi Chef to join our growing culinary team.

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Sushi Chef to prepare a variety of sushi and sashimi dishes that meet our high standards of quality, presentation, and taste. The ideal candidate has a deep respect for Japanese culinary tradition, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence in every dish they create.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparation & Craftsmanship:

Prepare all types of sushi, including nigiri, sashimi, maki, and specialty rolls. Fabricate, fillet, and portion fish and seafood with precision. Cook and season sushi rice consistently. Assist with preparing additional Japanese items such as tempura and vegetable dishes.
Quality & Sanitation:

Maintain the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene. Monitor ingredient freshness and follow proper rotation (FIFO) and storage procedures. Keep the sushi station clean, organized, and fully stocked.
Customer Service & Interaction:

Interact with guests professionally and warmly, especially at the sushi bar. Answer guest questions about ingredients and preparation methods. Accommodate dietary needs and reasonable special requests.
Teamwork & Operations:

Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service. Assist with inventory management, ordering, and supply needs. Contribute ideas for new and seasonal menu items.
Qualifications & Requirements:

Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or Sushi Cook in a restaurant setting. Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine and sushi/sashimi techniques. Ability to identify and handle a variety of fish and seafood. Understanding of food safety standards (Food Handler Certification is a plus). Excellent knife skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Professional appearance and attitude. Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per year
