Overview


We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Construction/ Field Surveyor to join our dynamic project team at Rockport Commercial in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to actively engage with a progressive company in the civil construction sector.

Reporting to the VP of Operations, the Surveyor will be responsible for the execution of survey related tasks relating to Heavy Civil Construction Projects including but not limited to, creating layout files, converting project drawings to rover/machine controls, topographic surveys, quantity surveys, and construction layout.

Duties



Perform various surveying tasks, including GPS surveying, topographic surveys, quantity surveys and construction layout. Create and manage construction layout files for Rover and Trimble Machine Controls. Conduct quality control and quality assurance checks on projects. Utilize and maintain GPS Equipment, ensuring it is calibrated for accurate performance. Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and construction teams to execute survey-related tasks for Heavy Civil Construction projects. Assist in the procurement of construction materials and supplies as needed. Prepare survey reports, drawings and documentation for project records. Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with survey specifications and quality standards. Participate in site visits and inspections to assess project progress and address any issues.

Qualifications



Graduation from a post-secondary program such as Geometrics, Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology or similar, considered an asset. Proficiency in Trimble GPS equipment, Trimble Business Centre, or Civil 3D. Strong technological aptitude including Microsoft Office. Experience using B2W considered an asset. Proficient in reading drawings and specifications. Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate in a timely and concise manner. Strong construction knowledge and previous experience in Civil Construction. Ability to work independently and within larger teams and adapt to changing work environments. Impeccable organizational skills and effective time management with the ability to prioritize multiple projects. Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean Drivers Abstract.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
