We are seeking a

Survey Technician

to work in the Geomatics group in our

Collingwood

office.

This position is responsible for the collection of topographic survey information to record existing ground features and elevations in support of subsequent engineering design work, and the layout of design information for construction purposes. Work assignments include: establishing on-site horizontal control, carrying out benchmark level loops to establish accurate vertical control and on-site temporary benchmarks. In addition, the successful candidate will operate total station, GPS and/or LiDAR equipment to record topographic survey data and to complete field layout of engineering designs, as well as download and process survey/layout data using ACAD and/or other related software.

Key Position Requirements



A diploma in Survey Engineering Technician would be considered an asset, or another related program Minimum 1 year of relevant field experience would be considered an asset An interest in learning new technology An interest in working in the field and comfortability working in different types of terrain and weather conditions Knowledge of GPS and survey equipment to record topographic survey data and complete field layout of engineering designs would be considered an asset Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Excellent technical and analytical skills Enthusiasm to work in a team structure and a willingness to help and collaborate with others Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and work independently under minimal supervision Understanding of relevant legislation, guidelines and standards Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for daily use
