Pacific Vision MD is a well-established ophthalmology practice in North Vancouver, specializing in cataract surgery, with procedures performed at Lions Gate Hospital. We are committed to providing high-quality, compassionate eye care in a professional and patient-centered environment.

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated

Office Manager / Surgical Coordinator

to join our team. This hybrid leadership role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced clinical setting and has experience in both office management and surgical coordination.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



Clinic Operations & Office Management



Oversee day-to-day clinic operations and ensure smooth workflow Manage staff scheduling, training, performance reviews, and payroll Oversee patient registration, appointment scheduling, reminders, and follow-ups Process medical billing (MSP, Blue Cross) and maintain accurate financial records Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations (HIPAA, WorkSafeBC, CPSBC, etc.) Maintain and optimize EMR systems (preferably ACCURO), digital files, and inventory Act as a key liaison between physicians, staff, suppliers, and referring clinics

Surgical Coordination - Cataract Surgery at Lions Gate Hospital



Schedule and coordinate cataract surgeries, including pre-op assessments and follow-ups Communicate with hospital surgical teams to confirm OR bookings, equipment, and IOL orders Manage surgical waitlists, cancellations, and rebooking logistics Verify MSP eligibility and process payments for uninsured services and premium IOLs Prepare all surgical documentation, including consent forms, surgical day packets, and day of surgery packets Provide patients with clear pre-surgery instructions and post-op care information

Qualifications:



2+ years of experience in medical office administration (ophthalmology preferred) Previous experience with surgical coordination, office management, and MSP billing required Proficient with EMR systems (preferably ACCURO) and Microsoft Office Demonstrated leadership and team management experience Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills Familiarity with cataract surgery workflows and hospital systems is a strong asset
