Stabilization Centre Support Workers

to provide 24/7, hands-on, culturally grounded support to clients at the 10-bed Centre. The Support Worker helps create a safe, structured, and welcoming environment that is trauma-informed and recovery-oriented, honouring ceremony, language, and land-based healing while walking alongside clients in early recovery.

What you will do:

Reporting to the Stabilization Centre Manager, the Support Worker provides compassionate, hands-on care to clients on their healing journey. Guided by nehiyaw values, the role supports daily routines, wellness, and participation in cultural and land-based activities. The Support Worker helps maintain a safe and respectful environment, assists with life skills, and responds to emergencies using trauma-informed and culturally grounded approaches. They observe and document client well-being, communicate changes promptly to the care team, and work closely with Elders, counsellors, and other staff to support balance, dignity, and recovery.

You bring:



Certificate/diploma in Social Work, Addictions, Mental Health, Human Services, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. Experience in addictions recovery, mental health, community support, or residential programs. Experience working with First Nations/Indigenous communities. Knowledge of trauma-informed, harm-reduction, and recovery-oriented practice; familiarity with nehiyaw ceremony and protocols. Clear verbal and written communication; accurate observation and documentation; basic computer skills for email, logs, and templates. Strong interpersonal skills; calm de-escalation; ability to organize tasks in a fast-paced, shift-based environment.

Conditions of Employment:



Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence and access to a reliable, insured vehicle. Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry Check. Must be willing to work rotating shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Adherence to kakisiwew-ochapowace HR policies, Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, OCAP principles, and substance-use policies. Must successfully complete drug and alcohol testing prior to employment and comply with Nation substance use policies. Obtain within 30 days if not current: First Aid/CPR, naloxone, and NVCI/CPI (or equivalent).
