Status

Position Summary

Supply Custodians perform heavy duty cleaning responsibilities and Supply Custodial Assistants perform routine light cleaning responsibilities.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Supply Custodians:

maintaining floors including scrubbing, waxing, stripping, and refinishing assisting the Head Custodian with the maintenance of the building and mechanical equipment assisting with the security of the building and immediate grounds complying with health and safety programs monitoring community use of the school during shift and responding to requests for assistance moving furniture (setting up and removing furniture for school functions) removing snow

Supply Custodial Assistants:

performing routine light cleaning duties assisting with the security of the building complying with school health and safety programs

Education/Qualifications

Supply Custodians:

high school diploma a minimum of 2 years related experience related custodial training good communication and interpersonal skills

Supply Custodial Assistants:

a minimum of 1 year related experience related custodial training good communication and interpersonal skills

Rate of Pay

Supply Custodians: $26.14 per hour


Supply Custodial Assistants: $21.75 per hour

Nature of Work

We are looking for individuals who can work the day shift (between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.) and/or afternoon shift (between 2:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.). Hours of work may vary and can be up to 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday. This is hourly, on-call work with opportunities for temporary, long term assignments and eligibility to apply for permanent, advertised positions. Those interested should be prepared to travel to various schools throughout the City of Edmonton.
