This year we delivered the second lead Arctic and Offshore Patrol Ship, the largest Navy ship built in Canada in 50 years and we're just getting started. The third ship will be delivered in 2022.

Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking a Supply Chain Security Specialist.

This is a permanent full-time role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. The primary language of work is English. The Supply Chain Security Specialist will fulfill a key role in the Canadian Surface Combatant (CSC) program, providing subject matter expertise with respect to continuous monitoring of the security posture of both the physical and cyber supply chain. Reporting to the Director of Security Integration, the successful candidate will be required to work closely with Supply Chain representatives, export control and trade compliance specialists, vendors and other external stakeholders including the Royal Canadian Navy. They must work collaboratively to define and implement a continuous monitoring program for supply chain and support ongoing supply chain security assurance efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Education required:
  • BacheloraEUR(TM)s degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Experience required:
  • Two or more years experience in Supply Chain Security.
  • Two or more years experience in either Procurement, Logistics, or Commercial Shipping and Receiving.
  • Problem solving skills and ability to lead and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written).
  • Desired Qualifications Include:
  • Supply Chain Security experience on large-scale complex defense programs.
  • Knowledge and experience in:
  • Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) and/or Co-ordination
  • Security management
  • Principles of Security Inspection
  • Security Risk Assessment
  • Process Management / Assurance
  • Manufacturing and Construction Processes
  • Quality Management
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)
  • Threat and Risk Assessment (i.e. HTRA, NIST 800-30 etc.)
  • Security certification as a Professional Certified Investigator (CPI)
  • Security certification as an Associate Protection Professional (APP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP)
All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop plans and other materials in support of supply chain management activities.
  • Execute analysis and evaluation of supply chain security considerations, risks, issues, and mitigations.
  • Assess the impact of findings in reports, in terms of security risk, impacts to operations, quality and cost.
  • Interface with Supply Chain, Defence Trade and Compliance, and others to ensure Supply Chain processes align with and influence procurement and production processes.
  • Interface with the Quality Management team to support the Quality objectives of the project.
  • Make recommendations with respect to the identification, assessment, and automation of data collection in the context of continuous improvement and monitoring
