Overview




This position oversees all activities related to the Suzuki Canada Supply Chain. The responsibilities of the position include oversight of demand planning for Parts & Accessories and Units for all product lines, establishing supply chain performance targets and metrics.


LOCATION





This position is located at our Barrie, Ontario corporate office on a full-time basis, Monday to Friday, 5 days per week.


ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE



This position reports directly to Senior VP Finance & Operations.


This position has two (4) direct and one (6) indirect reports: + Supervisor, PDC and Material Handlers Indirectly
+ Inventory Coordinator - Parts & Accessories
+ Demand Planner
+ Order Desk Representative - Units

NATURE AND SCOPE




Develops and maintains, in conjunction with requirements of SMC, an effective inventory control system for all parts and accessories Supervises and trains SCI parts department inventory control and dealer representatives

Responsibilities




Inventory Control:




Responsible for developing and directing the physical distribution, inventory control, procurement, order processing, warehousing for the Parts Distribution Centre (PDC). Develops, establishes and maintains procedures to ensure balanced inventory levels, proper turnover and availability of parts and accessories. Review all parts purchase requisitions (PR's), vendor billing and all landing costs for accuracy and approval. Ensure that the AS400 item master is maintained to reflect current data including pricing, interchanges, stock levels and vendors. Control all inventory by movement ensuring high supply ratio, minimal back orders and low parts obsolescence.

Dealer / Customer Service:




Correspond as required with dealers (bulletins), vendors, factories, SMAI, etc. Monitors vendor performance to ensure dealer service levels are maintained Responds to dealer concerns. Ensure dealer, vendor, and customer correspondence files are maintained.

Administrative:




Implement company/dealer parts policy specified by SCI management and maintain the parts portion of the Dealer Policy and Procedure Guide. Control all factory/vendor dollar purchase amounts, recording landing costs including sea and airfreight expenses. Administer the Parts & Accessories operational and inventory budgets. Oversee the process to claim and control all defective or damaged parts against the factory. Establish and oversee the process for Parts returns from dealers for credit, including terminations, monthly & annual returns, credit memo and warranty claims to dealers. Generate claims/debits back to vendors and monitor expense.

We are seeking candidates who provide the following expertise and competencies:




EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES, AND SKILLS




Minimum College/University degree in business or related discipline. 10-15 years related work experience in a managerial/supervisory capacity. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience in international importing of product into Canada and Canadian distribution Advanced expertise and knowledge of Microsoft office, in particular, Word & Excel, Outlook. Analytical, organized, accurate - attention to detail and demonstrated problem solving abilities.
