Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centred clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview

The Supply Chain Management Shared Service (SCMSS) is a new organization that supports health services delivery across Manitoba by contracting, procuring and distributing supplies, equipment, and services to service delivery organizations (SDOs) across the health sector. The SCMSS leads the category management health and population cluster for the Government of Manitoba and is responsible for establishing contracts for in-scope items that can be used by stakeholders across public sector partners.

The Supply Chain Assistant will play a key role in the new SCMSS within Shared Health and provide on-going support to drive innovation, mitigate supply risk, and improve supplier performance.

Main Function

The Supply Chain Assistant will:

  • Provide general and analytical support for the strategic sourcing and category management functions within SCMSS including scheduling, preparing and processing communications, reports and contract documents, and maintaining digital contract files
  • Collect, distribute, validate, and analyze data, including financial data and reports, relative to contracting and supply chain management initiatives and priorities
Experience
  • 3 years of experience providing client services in an enterprise-wide supply chain management function in a large publicly funded organization, preferably in the health or public sector, including using advanced skills with general office software (e.g. spreadsheets and word-processing)
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Post-secondary diploma in supply chain management, business administration, commerce or a related field from an accredited post-secondary education institution
  • Additional specialized training in supply chain management, particularly category management and strategic sourcing is an asset
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Active member in good standing of an associated regulatory body as appropriate
Qualifications and Skills
  • Client service level leadership capabilities at the staff level. The provincial health system in Manitoba has adopted the
framework

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to work safely in a typical computerized office environment with frequent meetings at multiple client sites, and to lift and carry items of up to approximately 10 kg
  • Interruptions to respond to questions are common dedicated and focused time for planning and concentration can be scheduled
