We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Supervisor to join our team at ServiceOntario in Whitby. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a proven track record in retail management. This role requires effective communication, organizational abilities, and a commitment to fostering a positive work environment. As a Supervisor, you will oversee daily operations, manage staff, and ensure exceptional customer service while driving and maintaining inventory control.
Duties
Lead and motivate a team to achieve goals and maintain high standards of customer service.
Conduct employee orientation and training sessions to enhance team performance.
Manage scheduling, shift assignments, and payroll processes to ensure efficient operations.
Oversee inventory management, including ordering, stocking, and organizing products.
Implement effective recruiting strategies to attract top talent for the team.
Handle cash management tasks including cash handling, cashiering duties, and financial reporting.
Maintain store appearance by ensuring cleanliness, identify issues and develop strategies to address them.
Foster a culture of teamwork through effective communication and conflict resolution.
Utilize retail math skills for budgeting, pricing strategies, and sales analysis.
Collaborate with upper management to develop marketing initiatives that increase customer traffic into the the office.
Experience
Proven supervisory experience in a retail environment is essential.
Strong background in customer service with the ability to handle inquiries professionally.
Experience with POS systems and cash handling procedures.
Familiarity with inventory control processes and retail sales techniques.
Bilingual or multilingual candidates are preferred to enhance customer interactions.
Demonstrated skills in time management, organizational abilities, and leadership qualities.
Previous experience in training & development of staff is highly desirable.
