$62,337 - $87,859 per annum

DUTIES



The Supervisor, Youth Initiatives provides safe, enriching and inclusive experiences for young people, including summer camps, in-service day camps, and Take Our Kids to Work Day. Duties involve project management, collaboration with academic areas, donor relations, coordinating logistics, administering registration, providing customer service, and supervising student workers. The incumbent develops student leaders, provides quality childcare, and introduces youth to the possibilities of a polytechnic education on our campuses. In addition, they enhance Campus Well-Being's recreation and wellness offerings by delivering select programs and services outside of youth initiatives. The incumbent builds RRC Polytech's reputation as a choice post-secondary for future students, enhances the current student experience, promotes inclusion for all, and grows partnerships.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS


Degree in a relevant discipline such as Education, Child and Youth Care, Recreation, or Kinesiology. Equivalent education and experience may be considered. Experience delivering child or youth programs such as day camps Several years' experience in a sport, recreation or fitness capacity Experience in a customer service-related role Experience supervising others Proficiency in program development, administration, and evaluation Proven supervisory skills, including recruiting, scheduling, training, and mentoring staff Exceptional child and youth engagement skills, including rapport building, boundary setting, conflict de-escalation, patience, creativity, flexibility and enthusiasm Demonstrated knowledge of health and safety standards and risk management procedures, including harassment prevention, emergency response and injury prevention Excellent interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to proactively build relationships to enhance service delivery Superior communication skills both written and verbal in order to communicate effectively and professionally with students, team members, internal and external audiences Strong analytical and interpretive skills with the ability to synthesize data such as user reports, satisfaction surveys, and user feedback in order to enhance operations Knowledge of effective marketing and engagement strategies Understanding of Truth and Reconciliation and of equity, diversity, inclusion, access and cultural issues Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS


Certifications related to sport, fitness, recreation, or wellness. Experience in a post-secondary environment Familiarity with recreation management software such as Fusion
