Looking for a new and exciting opportunity? We are looking for a Supervisor, Wiring & Service to join our team!

What You Will Do

Reporting to the Manager - Electrical, you will plan, co-ordinate, supervise and oversee the activities related to the installation, maintenance, diagnosis and repair of electrical equipment, systems, and/or infrastructure.



Other responsibilities of your role will include:


Ensuring appropriate training for subordinate employees Managing KPI's and other metrics to review team's performance and identify areas for improvement Carrying out project management activities related to improvement and capital projects; being responsible for the financial control and reporting for the capital projects Recommending and implementing new improvements to equipment and/or methods of work, including developing and revising work methods/procedures for the work carried out in the Section Addressing environmental, safety, and other compliance issues related to operations in the Section or Department Performing project management activities related to the state of good repair, legislative requirements, improvement and expansion capital projects Preparing, developing, monitoring and reporting on cost center Capital and Operating budgets, goals and objectives Supervising the inspection and acceptance tests for new installations and reviewing the recommendations for the acceptance or reasons for non-acceptance Carrying out administrative tasks such as budgeting, estimating, and preparing written reports concerning operations and employees

What Qualifications Do You Bring?

Your educational background will consist of the completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline, or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent. A valid Certificate of Qualification as an Electrician (Construction and Maintenance) will be considered an asset. Your application will reveal your sound knowledge of the installation, inspection, maintenance, testing and repair processes, and practices and principles for electrical/electronic equipment & systems found in the TTC's subway system and surface properties. These will include transformers, switch gear, emergency power supplies and light & power distribution systems. Your working knowledge of the co-ordination and installation principles and practices of capital construction/installation projects will benefit you in this role. You will have the ability to identify priorities in order to plan, organize and implement work schedules and capital project schedules of the section. Additionally, you will have knowledge of human relations concepts/practices, and an understanding of pertinent human resources policies and legislation/regulations regarding safety, employment, human rights, etc. You will also have knowledge of Union Agreements and Commission policies/procedures related to the work (i.e. CUPE Local 2 Collective Agreement, applicable sections of regulations such as WHMIS, Occupational Health & Safety Act, Electrical Code Book and Environment Protection Act, etc.) Your application will demonstrate a familiarity with budgeting procedures and practices. You will have knowledge of project planning/management concepts and financial reporting You will have good supervisory, administrative, analytical, problem solving, organizational and interpersonal skills. You will also have effective verbal and written communication skills. You will possess the ability to motivate subordinates and effectively plan, supervise and co-ordinate the activities of others to accomplish objectives. As a Supervisor, Wiring & Service, you will be available to work "stand by coverage" as directed/scheduled.
