Your Opportunity:

Under the direction of the manager, the incumbent is responsible for the coordination of day-to-day site food service activities, to provide leadership and direct supervision to front-line food service staff. Accountable to maintain an efficient service operation for patient food, cafeteria and food production. Responsibilities include: performance management, coaching, mentoring, recruitment, training, staff scheduling and payroll for the department. Responsible for monitoring operational performance targets including budget for a cost effective operation. Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, monitoring quality assurance, ensuring safe work practices and department infrastructure conditions. Critically evaluates current state to create a service that is responsive to changes within the organization, meets demands and seeks opportunities for improvement. Communication and collaboration with the Clinical Dietitian to ensure diet orders are implemented appropriately. Maintains ongoing communication with all relevant stakeholders representing food services at the site. This position is the Team Lead and must exercise considerable independence in performing duties and meeting management objectives. Performs other related duties as assigned. Must have availability to work the following present recurring 2-week rotation. Shifts will vary from 3 hours at minimum and 7.75 paid hours maximum/shift. Scheduled every 2nd weekend 9:45-6:00 pm. Additional and/or lengthened shifts will be available. Must be available to work either Christmas & Boxing Day or New Year's Day. A resume and cover letter is expected.

Required Qualifications:

At minimum, 2 years leadership experience in a food service based industry involving hiring, scheduling and directing of work. Leadership experience in a unionized health care environment with strong team building skills with the ability to handle multiple demands concurrently. Completion of a recognized post-secondary program in related food area. Preference given to candidates with a diploma/degree in Dietetics, Nutrition and Food Service Management or Dietary Technology. Education must be accompanied by demonstrated leadership ability, organizational and time management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be proficient with software in a Windows 10 environment - Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Must possess knowledge in diet terminology. Ability to follow and apply established Diet Guidelines. Ability to meet timelines and to independently prioritize work with attention to detail and accuracy. Additional Required Qualifications:

Ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within an operating budget. Proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Travel between sites is required on an occasional basis Preferred Qualifications:

Other certificates such as Food and Beverage Management will be considered. Previous experience in a hot serve meal assembly cell system, CBORD, process improvement WHS, ESP, ORACLE, e-People (RMS) and e-Facilities will be considered assets.
