Established in 1993, Y Newcomer Connections is a leading immigrant settlement Centre focused on creating connections that will transform our community into a lasting, healthy home for immigrants from around the world, and from all walks of life.The OpportunityAs the Supervisor for the Resettlement Assistance Program (RAP), you will lead a team dedicated to supporting newcomers as they transition to life in our community. Your role is crucial in ensuring the delivery and continuous improvement of RAP services. You will work closely with the Settlement Supervisor, the Manager of Settlement and Resettlement Support Services, and the General Manager of Newcomer and Community Connections to drive the strategic growth and success of the program. This position is also responsible for supporting and providing performance coaching to team staff.Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor RAP Counsellors and support staff.
  • Facilitate staff development through training, feedback, and coaching.
  • Manage hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Program Management:
  • Oversee daily operations of RAP services.
  • Collaborate on meeting funding objectives and enhancing client services.
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Act as a resource and support for staff in client management.
  • Step in as a Resettlement Counsellor when needed.
  • Build relationships with community organizations to support newcomers.
  • Participate in leadership groups and contribute to the broader vision of Newcomer Connections.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of experience in settlement or casework, with 2 years in leadership.
  • Proficient in MS Office 365.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-centric approach.
  • Adept mediator and knowledgeable of conflict resolution strategies
  • A minimum of 4 years experience in cross-cultural environments.
  • Must be fluent in the English language, knowledge of other languages is a great asset.
  • Employment is contingent on having a clean Criminal Record Check.
