BOTHWELL CHEESE is looking for a Packaging Supervisor. Rotating shifts with one other Packaging Supervisor, the incumbent will supervise hourly employees in our curd, shred, cut&wrap and smokehouse areas with due emphasis on quality, efficiencies, food safety and employee safety. This position reports directly to the Production Manager. Responsibilities:
- Understanding and executing the daily production schedules
- Upholding highest standard of food safety and quality and safe work environment
- Detailed understanding of all packaging lines, pre-op, post-op and documentation
- Detailed knowledge of all the equipment
- Ensure inventories are staged and ready for production
- Verifying forms
- Managing employee schedules
- Overseeing training
- Assisting in packaging employee issues
- Proactively improving and expanding functions
- Providing suggestions, ideas and recommendations to increase efficiencies and cut costs
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a food processing environment
- Demonstrated leadership skills with 3 years of supervisory experience
- Manages time effectively, meets goals, works cooperatively with other members of the Bothwell team
- A strong communicator, both written and oral, who is confident, decisive, able to deal with conflict and achieve win-win results
