Reporting to the Manager, Applications for Engineering Solutions, The Supervisor, Mine Planning, Design and Geology Applications, is a key member of the Teck Resources Engineering Applications group leading a team responsible for the implementation, support, and continuous improvement of Mine Planning, Mine Design, Environmental and Geological applications across Teck's global operations.
This role ensures the reliable and secure operation of technologies such as short, mid and long-range planning solutions, environmental tools for water, air and noise quality, and geological tools for mining metals.

Key Responsibilities

Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of technical specialists
Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and service agreements
Establish and maintain best practices for Engineering related applications across existing and new operations
Lead all aspects of the implementation and configuration of engineering applications at various mine sites
Supervise tier 2/3 support of all applications within your portfolio
Support and troubleshoot systems from vendors including RPM Global, Hexagon, Dassault Systems and others
Serve as a trusted partner to our mine sites to provide subject matter expertise of the technology portfolio
Administer and maintain virtual environments
Provide high-level support for critical production, safety, and environmental systems
Collaborate with multi-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues
Contribute to project planning and execution, including budgeting and forecasting
Promote cybersecurity best practices and incident response readiness
Leverage ITIL and ITSM best practices to support our technology
Develop team capabilities, critical metrics, and support models (e.g., RASCI)
Qualifications
------------------
Bachelor's degree in computer/software engineering, Computer Science, or bachelor's degree in Mine Engineering or equivalent experience
5+ years in industrial environments with software-based technologies
5+ years' experience in the mining sector
3+ years' experience leading a small team of technical professionals (5-10 people)
Strong knowledge of Mine Planning, Design and Geological Mining Applications
Proficient in Windows Server/Desktop, virtualization, Active Directory, and networking fundamentals
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
Ability to travel globally; valid passport and Class 5 drivers license required
Proven ability to work in fast-paced, collaborative settings
Nice to Haves:
Spanish fluency considered a strong asset
Experience with cybersecurity in industrial environments
Experience with both Agile and Waterfall approaches for managing projects and services
Experience with SQL, Power BI and Azure DevOps
EGBC or APEGA recognized P-Eng designation
PMP, or Agile certification
Pay Range:
CAD $119,000 - $147,000 per year
The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
