JOB POSTING Men?s Emergency Services Men?s Emergency Shelter Supervisor, Men?s Emergency Shelter Full-Time, Permanent 1 Position Wage: $25.60 to $28.81 Per Hour (Includes Benefits & RRSP) * Posting No. MS0386 POSITION SUMMARY: The Supervisor, Men?s Shelter will Assist the Manager, Men?s Emergency Services to ensure the effective daily operation of the program within organizational policies and guidelines. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Share responsibility for supporting the operation of the shelter; this will include supporting with resident case management, discharge planning, and connection with community resources
• Provide performance management of shelter staff in consultation with the Manager, Men?s Services
• Ensure the timecard completion of all staff is up to date and accurate and communicate with HR regularly regarding all payroll inquiries
• Ensure the keeping of systematic and accurate statistics and case file records within designated program areas, and provide reports to the Manager, Men?s Services as required
• Manage the shelter database
• Support the ongoing review and development of programs, policies and procedures in consultation with management
• Assist in the interview, orientation and training of new staff, students and volunteers
• Liaise with Human Resources to support in identifying hiring needs and onboarding new employees
• Serve as a management repetitive on the Joint Health and Safety Committee
• Represent the program on assigned community committees, providing participation and reports in consultation with the Director, Men?s Services
• Adhere to a strict policy of confidentiality
• Work safely, identify any health and safety concerns and report to Management, and follow Mission Services? workplace health and safety policies and procedures at all times
• Other duties as required to ensure the continuation of services to residents

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum post-secondary diploma or degree in the human or social services sector, or equivalent experience
• Preference for two to three (2-3) years of related experience in a management role; a combination of education and experience may be considered
• Experience supporting marginalized populations and individuals experiencing homelessness
• Demonstrated understanding of issues relevant to a housing focused shelter operation including knowledge of social assistance and other community resources
• Ability to enhance the program and build professional relationships with staff and other community agencies
• Confident decision maker with excellent organizational, supervisory and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work as part of a team and act as a motivator for shelter staff
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other management rolls
• Committed to upholding the organization?s mission, values and standards

HOURS OF WORK:

• 37.5 Hours Per Week
• Ability to work Day or Night shifts
• Able to participate in part of an on-call rotation which will include availability on evenings and weekends

REQUIREMENTS:

• Police Vulnerable Sector Check
• Two-Step Tuberculosis Skin Test
• Proof of double COVID-19 vaccination, or willingness to register to receive these vaccinations as soon as possible

COMPENSATION:

• Hourly wage starts at $25.60 per hour
• *Benefits after 3-months of continuous, active employment
• *Group RRSP employer matching up to 3% after one (1) year of continuous employment
