Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director / CEO, Tourism Mississauga, the Supervisor, Marketing, will be responsible for the organization\xe2\x80\x99s marketing and communications strategies as well as the destination\xe2\x80\x99s overall branding and image.
Working with multi-disciplinary teams you will support and develop strategies for the Division\'s content and digital marketing, owned media design, in-person experiential development, strategic partnerships, as well as, developing, executing and monitoring the annual marketing plan and budget.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervises and provides day-to-day guidance and support for Tourism Mississauga marketing staff
  • Monitor work load and priorities to ensure timely completion of marketing projects, initiatives and requests
  • Collaborates with other marketing teams across the City on marketing initiatives, with a focus on brand and reputational campaigns and promotional content
  • Development of marketing strategies for selected sectors of destination marketing
  • Provide marketing expertise to internal teams and clients on topics including market research, digital and social media marketing, advertising, experiential and other promotional activities
  • Lead and/or develop content for multi-channel integrated marketing campaigns and strategies to support the City\'s strategic goals
  • Drive the quantitative and qualitative evaluation of new marketing and advertising opportunities and provide detailed analysis and performance updates
  • Manage projects to deliver the desired results with defined campaign timelines
  • Prepare and implement monthly and annual marketing research and campaign budgets
  • Maintain an awareness of current trends and technology in related fields
  • Assist in managing long-term strategic projects, including developing RFP\'s, project charters, project plans, strategic plans, business requirements, and budgets
  • Develop and present: business cases; concept papers; and position papers to senior leaders.
Skills and Qualifications
  • University degree or post-graduate diploma in business, marketing, public relations, hospitality, digital media, or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
  • Graduate diploma or certificate in project management, digital advertising or destination marketing is an asset.
  • Minimum Five (5) years progressive business experience with a proven track record in strategic marketing plan development and execution
  • Detailed knowledge of current digital marketing trends and technologies and demonstrated experience in user experience design for mobile and desktop, social media, digital advertising, e-mail marketing, digital signage, etc.
  • Motivated self-starter with excellent oral and written communication, leadership and team building skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation and organizational skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work creatively and effectively in a team environment is required.
  • Demonstrated and proven ability to lead projects with exceptional project management skills.
  • Experience managing strategic or operational projects with demonstrated ability to deliver on-time quality results.
  • Experience in managing, designing, building or modifying websites and other digital products is preferred.
  • Experience in developing business plans/cases and/or strategic plans would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated presentation skills.
Hourly Rate/Salary: $85,155- $113,541
