Through the promotion and support of North York Seniors Centre's Mission, Vision and Value Statements, the Supervisor, In-Home Services oversees in-home community operations, ensuring high-quality, client-centred care. The role includes staff supervision, training, performance management, budgeting, and reporting, while supporting care planning, wellness initiatives, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. The Supervisor also contributes to quality improvement, community engagement, and organizational development.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise and provide direction to all Personal support and Community support workers
Recruit, orient, train, counsel, discipline and terminate workers as required
Conduct in-home spot checks to ensure policies, procedures, standards and guidelines are followed
Monitor quality of service and ensure the health and safety of clients and workers
Confirm the timesheets for the staff weekly.
Prepare and submit monthly statistics timely manner to the Senior Manager.
Conduct weekly/ monthly client billing check using internal database.
Participate in continuous quality improvement processes and assist in the research and development of best practices
Follow the on-call schedule, monitor the cell phone after office hours and on weekends
Promote a safe and healthy work environment
Promote and maintain a high standard of customer service that is client-focused
QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS:
Education:
Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., Social Work, Nursing, Gerontology, Community Services, or Health Administration)
Experience:
2 to 5 years of progressive leadership experience in community or home care settings
2 to 5 years of working experience with frail and cognitively impaired seniors/adults
Strong background in program coordination, client-centred service, and staff supervision
Other:
Valid driving license and access to a vehicle, an asset
Assessment and counselling skills; experience with the InterRAI-CHA assessment tool, an asset
Strong organizational and communication skills
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Computer skills in a Windows environment; knowledge of Goldcare, an asset
Fluent in verbal and written English; other languages, an asset
Current First Aid and CPR certification
Recent Vulnerable Police Check
