Role Overview
The dynamic and compassionate Supervisor is an integral part of the HART Hub Dufferin, providing leadership to a multidisciplinary team delivering comprehensive, integrated care services to vulnerable individuals. In collaboration with the Manager, the Supervisor leads a team of professionals ensuring strategic goals are translated into actionable steps, optimizing relationships between staff, clients and community partners, and fostering an environment of innovation and positive change. They focus on staff skills development, building internal team capacity, and supporting staff in managing elevated-risk situations. They assist the Manager in assessing staff competencies, identifying training needs, and driving continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide supervision for staff, ensuring they are supported in their roles and equipped to meet the complex needs of clients
Offer guidance and mentorship to enhance the team's capacity and services
Evaluation of front-line staff performance through regular individual and group meetings
Ensure operational needs are met through oversight of schedules and adherence to policies and procedures
Assist in program planning, monitoring, and achieving service targets, as well as developing the annual work plan and program goals
Identify and escalate risks and performance issues
Lead team meetings and rounds, providing clinical feedback and solution-focused strategies to ensure a high level of service delivery
Promote a strong commitment to person-centered care, quality service delivery, and continuous improvement
Provide clinical guidance on individualized service plans that focus on short-term and long-term client needs, promoting homelessness, addiction, recovery, and treatment support
Assist staff in managing elevated-risk situations, ensuring they have the tools to navigate challenging scenarios safely and effectively
Support internal collaboration across hub partners to ensure a One Team approach
Liaise with partners, community services, and stakeholders
Ensure the safety and wellness of both staff and clients by promoting a psychologically healthy and safe environment
Demonstrate a strong commitment to quality care and service
Ensure appropriate records are kept and statistical information is maintained as per agency standards
Perform additional duties as required or delegated by management
Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in Social Work, Social Services, Health Services, or equivalent
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a community mental health, addictions, or related social services position
Minimum 1 year experience in a leadership role within community mental health, addictions, or related social services position
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire a multidisciplinary team
In-depth knowledge of low-barrier service models, harm reduction, and trauma-informed care practices
Experience and sensitivity in dealing with members of different cultural and racial backgrounds, including visible and invisible dimensions of diversity
Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills
Proven experience for analytical and organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to work without direct supervision in a team environment
Proficient in MS Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook)
Valid Certification in First Aid & CPR
Training in ASIST and CPI
Reporting Function:
The Supervisor reports to the Program Manager. They are responsible for overseeing and managing program staff and have the authority to manage the day-to-day operations accordingly. They work with both internal and external partners and interact with all levels within the organization.
They are a support system, resource, and an advocator for the team and organization.
Working Conditions and Requirements:
Saturday and Sunday 9:30am - 5:30pm, with the ability to work excess/overtime hours where required
Able to sit/stand for prolonged periods of time (building inspections, site meetings, unit inspections, etc.)
Computer screen use (multiple screens if applicable) for prolonged periods of time
Able to lift up to 20lbs (product, devices etc.)
Vehicle with adequate insurance coverage to travel to community sites is required
