The Financial Reporting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the preparation, analysis, and submission of accurate and timely financial reports in accordance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This role supervises a financial reporting analyst, ensuring the integrity of financial data, and supporting external audit processes, internal reporting requirements, and senior management's decision-making.


WHAT WILL YOU DO?




Supervise and review the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (internal and external), ensuring financial reporting complies with IFRS or relevant accounting standards. Review journal entries, GL workbooks, bank reconciliations, and all supporting financial schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness. Coordinate and support the annual external audit process, including the preparation of audit schedules and responses to auditor inquiries. Assist in the preparation of annual and quarterly financial statements and notes disclosures, MD&A, and investor reporting, as applicable. Review and oversee consolidations, intercompany eliminations, and foreign currency translation processes. Assist in preparing and filing Sales Tax, Partnership, and Corporate Income Tax returns in coordination with internal and external tax teams. Liaise with internal departments (e.g., Tax, Legal, Operations, Capital Markets, Asset Management) to obtain necessary financial data and resolve reporting issues. Research and implement new accounting standards or regulatory changes. Identify and implement automation opportunities and process enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting. Lead, coach, and mentor reporting analysts, providing guidance and career development support. Contribute to a responsive and collaborative team environment by adapting to change and taking on additional responsibilities as needed.

WHAT WILL YOU NEED?




Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred. 5+ years of progressive experience in financial reporting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role. Experience with complex consolidations, multi-entity environments, or real estate/asset management is an asset. Strong understanding of IFRS. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, experience with Yardi Voyager would be considered an asset. Advanced Excel skills; ability to work with large data sets and pivot tables. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
