Your Opportunity:Description:The Supervisor, Health Information/Records Management performs a leadership role in Health Information Management and reports directly to the Manager, Health Information/Records Management-EZ. The position is accountable for successful maintenance of health information/records regardless of medium (paper/electronic). The position has oversight responsibility for all operational aspects of the department and serves as a resource for the facility regarding health record content and compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements. The position is responsible ensuring local service delivery meets HIRM standards and requirements, and that all HIRM Connect Care workflows are adhered to and optimized. Essential functions of the position; Provides leadership through direct and indirect supervision, motivating, guiding and supporting staff; Monitors productivity and quality of work performed. Addresses performance issues; Monitors and evaluates operational practices; tracks and reports key performance indicators; Uses critical thinking and analytical skills to address issues related to operations, staffing, and scheduling; Works within established budget to efficiently manage financial and human assets. Responsible for recruitment, interviewing, hiring, orientation, training, and scheduling of staff; Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with key stakeholders both within the organization and outside of AHS; Ensures Health Information Act (HIA) and Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP) are adhered to; Follows AHS Information Privacy and Information Security policies; Supports one or more sites and travel is required based on individual portfolio and coverage requirements; Acts as HIM Supervisor On-Call on a rotational basis to provide after-hours support for staffing, and response to urgent or emergency issues.

Required Qualifications:Minimum three (3) years in a management/supervisory capacity, ideally in a healthcare organization of significant size, complexity and diversity required. Other post-secondary education and/or experience may be considered. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development.
Additional Required Qualifications:Exceptional leadership with effective communication and ability to influence actions and outcomes. Effective interpersonal skills and ability to motivate and inspire while operating within a diverse team environment. Successful management of human resource issues, preferably within a unionized environment. Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Fostering collaborative partnerships with other disciplines at all levels of the organization. Adapting to an evolving environment and modelling positive change. Working under pressure, responding to changing priorities in a highly dynamic environment and meeting deadlines. Effectively managing human, financial and physical resources to meet operational objectives within budget. Comfort in decision making supported by excellent analytical skills, creativity and innovation. Effectively organizing, planning and implementing short and long term plans and projects. Experience in record life-cycle management and using electronic health information systems. Experience implementing business transformation strategies the use of technology. Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook). An excellent attendance record, reliability and personal suitability must be demonstrated through employment record, interview and references.
