About the position:
Reporting to the General Manager, this position is responsible for the development and implementation of all preschool/youth programs, camp programs, and babysitting services. It is the responsibility of the Supervisor of Preschool, Youth and Camp to ensure that there are systems in place to support the training and development of part time staff and volunteers. The Supervisor is responsible for budget management, program planning/management and providing strong hands on leadership.
Responsibilities:
Plan, develop and implement programs within specific area and in partnership with the program team. Programs must meet high standards of service in a value based environment and stimulate membership growth and retention.
Ensure an appropriate amount of hands on leadership within program areas. Direct leadership in coaching, mentoring and support of all program staff.
Recruit, hire, train, manage and evaluate program staff and volunteers.
Create an annual budget and manage the allocated budget throughout the year.
A member of the Senior Staff team including Acting Manager shifts and support of philanthropic initiatives.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
University/College Degree/Diploma in a related field
Minimum 3 years of front line and supervisory experience with preschool, youth and camp programs
Demonstrated competence in program management and implementation
Well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills
Proven track record of staff and volunteer supervision
YMCA Healthy Child Development/High Five Training - an asset
Recreation and Leisure Services (an asset)
Experience in physical program and camp leadership (a must)
Working Conditions:
Variable hours required (includes evening and weekend)
Requirement of Standard First Aid & CPR Level C & AED
Satisfactory vulnerable sector check
Reporting Relationship:
Reports to the General Manager, John Williams Branch
Direct Reports: Youth, Camp and Kids Kare staff
