$29.17-$33.49+10.2% paid in lieu of Stats & Vacation

Flexible hours (35hrs per week), Monday - Friday
Job Summary:
Provide proactive support to children and youth with developmental disabilities, assist parents/caregivers to increase their resources and capacity. Behaviour management, life skills training, parenting support and skill building, crisis intervention, education, advocacy, and service navigation in a group environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Demonstrated ability working with children and youth with support needs, and their families.
Demonstrated knowledge of how to assess and adapt based on the needs of the person served.
Plans, organizes, and implements behavioural, educational, recreational, social, and life skills-based programming for individual and group services.
Demonstrated ability to work and collaborate with a variety of others including medical, school, community and other professionals.
Recognizes, assesses, and develops strategies to manage potential and emerging crisis situations.
Excellent written and oral communication and reporting skills
Education, Training, and Experience:
Undergraduate degree in human service or the equivalent combination of field specific education and work experience.
Emergency First Aid with CPR-C or equivalent.
Previous work experience in the Child and Youth with Support Needs sector.
Familiarity with Microsoft 365 considered an asset.
Additional Information
A moderate level of physical fitness, standing, walking, bending, lifting, participation in recreational activities and social events in the community, as well as light housekeeping duties.
Direct delivery of this program may require provision of limited assistance with mobility for certain individuals.
Valid class 5 driver's licence and the use of a vehicle in good working order, with business insurance, and able to transport clients and/or children (tether bolt), are required.
Employees are expected to work effectively and responsibly when on their own in the community with client(s).
A Police Criminal Record Check completed within the last 6 months.
