We are looking for an energetic leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has an entrepreneurial spirit and a proven track record invoking change within large organizations. You will draw upon your extensive portfolio management experience to design, develop and lead a managed account platform and play a pivotal role in product strategy. Reporting to the President and UDP, Sun Life Canada Securities Inc. (SLCSI), this is a senior role focused on developing a high-performance team that will execute on our strategy and ensure we capitalize on the rapid changes in our industry. Responsibilities include the following: The launch of SLCSI is set on three foundational pillars, Platform, Product and Support. This role will touch all three but have heavy focus on the Product pillar. It is here that the candidate will actively participate in product strategy to support our wealth distribution continuum. Once that is set, they will put their focus on the development of a managed account program that will include the design, build and management of a UMA program. Once licensing and infrastructure is in place, as the supervising portfolio manager, they will be responsible for approval and monitoring of managed accounts as well as supervise associate PMs as the dealer continues to grow. What will you do? Wealth Distribution Product Strategy

  • Play an integral role in the product approval committee.
  • Review and advise on asset allocation in our model portfolios.
  • Implement an investment research/analysis platform to support our advisor network.
Unified Managed Account Platform
  • Design, develop and launch a UMA program that will evolve as the dealer grows.
  • Design the infrastructure required for an MVP launch and plan for the future to scale the business
  • Put in place a high-performing team that will operationalize the product strategy and UMA program.
Supervision
  • Registered as Portfolio Manager and Supervisor of Managed Accounts
  • Perform managed account approval and supervision requirements while building your team for the future
  • Design, develop and launch an Associate PM program
  • Work with investment advisors on investment selection and portfolio allocation
  • Become the subject matter expert on the firms portfolio management system
  • Registration with CIRO as Supervising Portfolio Manager
  • 15 years+ relevant investment dealer experience
  • CFA designation preferred.
  • Deep understanding of various investment product types and Investment portfolio construction skills is required.
  • Familiarity with Portfolio Management platforms and ability to customize them to meet specific needs is an asset.
  • Demonstrated presentation skills (advisor-facing presentations, either small group or main stage)
  • English/French bilingualism is an asset
  • Innovative leader, with transformation experience, who can manage significant ambiguity and constantly changing circumstances in a start-up environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and impact and influence large senior teams.
  • Ability to identify, surface and drive resolution to issues, risks, or unforeseen constraints to ensure effective execution of the program initiatives.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with strong problem-solving abilities to effectively prioritize in a diverse and fast paced environment
The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
