The Senior Analyst role is a critical part of the Investment Product team and will have primary responsibility to Govern, Manage, and Support the SLSCI Product Shelf. This includes ensuring it is Governed according to requirements, managed to meet the needs of Advisors and support teams/tools as required. This role is part of the broader Product Shelf Management department that supports both Sun Life Financial Investment Services (Canada) Inc. (\xe2\x80\x9cSLFISI\xe2\x80\x9d), and Sun Life Canada Securities Inc. ("SLCSI"). The selected candidate will work closely with a wide range of stakeholders including Investment Advisors, Portfolio Managers, National Accounts Representatives, Sun Life Wealth Consultants, Legal, Operations and Compliance teams as well as other colleagues within Sun Life.

Responsibilities:

Be a key member of the Fund/Product Research team that supports Advisors and SLCSI Management.

This role entails interacting with individuals from various business units at Sun Life as well as fund/Investment Product manufacturers. The candidate must be able to foster great working relationships with all.

Conduct comprehensive research on investment products both at the industry and individual fund level.

Participate in the due diligence process and documentation for Products under review for shelf addition as per Governance Charter.

Assist with Know Your Product requirements

Contribute to the strategic management of the overall SLFISI/SLCSI product shelf.

The individual must be able to both support the development of strategies and supporting business processes and policies.

The individual will be critical to future enhancement of current programs and the creation of new ones within the Product Team.

Leadership in a number of projects will be required.

Qualifications:

At least 10 years of previous experience related to the development and management of an IIROC Product Shelf

Previous experience related to Investment Fund/Product Research

Has previous distribution or Dealer experience

Deep knowledge of capital markets, investment products and applicable regulations.

Strong interpersonal skills used within a collaborative team environment.

Expertise in financial computer applications and database management tools including Morningstar Direct, SimFund Dash, MS Excel and Bloomberg.

Strong proficiency in other Microsoft Office products including MS Word and PowerPoint.

Self-starter with keen attention to detail and ability to work under limited supervision.

Ability to be creative, insightful, and resourceful in performance of duties.

Strong ability to attentively review, assess, and provide detailed information on multiple projects in an organized manner.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
