Job Summary:

The Youth Facilitator is responsible for delivering after-school programs designed to help newcomer children and youth develop and strengthen academic, physical, and social skills. This role includes providing activities such as arts and crafts, life skills, recreational activities, and workshops. The Youth Facilitator will work closely with schools and communities to ensure the programs positively impact students, families, and the school environment.

Job Responsibilities:



Partner with assigned demonstration schools to deliver programs that positively impact students, families, and schools. Facilitate a variety of after-school programs, including: In-Person 1-on-1 Mentoring, In-Person Group Programs, Reading and Tutoring, 1-on-1 Mentoring (Social/Emotional Focus) Engage children and families to participate in offered programs. Plan, supervise, implement, and evaluate children and youth-centered activities. Deliver programming tailored to the needs of immigrant and refugee youth. Lead specialized activities such as wellness, arts & crafts, social skills development, educational activities, team building, games, creative challenges, life skills, and technology-related activities. Provide a safe, engaging, and positive environment for children and families. Build relationships with program partners to understand child, youth, and community issues and trends. Support children and youth who are waiting to be involved in a program through monthly activities, group opportunities, and additional resources. Organize and operate day-to-day activities at the assigned site, including supervising program staff, participants, and volunteers. Develop positive relationships with the communities served by the program and the general public.

Qualifications:



Education:

University degree or college diploma in education, recreation, or human services.

Skills:



Ability to work effectively with children and youth, manage behaviors, and understand child and youth issues. Previous experience in after-school program settings. Experience using virtual platforms to deliver programming is an asset. Strong communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent interpersonal skills. Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.

Requirements:

Must provide a Criminal Records Check with vulnerable sector screening.

Experience:

2-3 years of experience in child and youth programming, including development, implementation, and assessment.

Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
