Position Description Position Title: Tour Guide
Area of Specialty: Visitor Services Immediate Supervisor: Manager Position Summary:
The Student will be part of a youth team that provides daily interpretation and tours to the visiting public. The student will also assist in coordinating the Volunteer Guide program which provides guide services at regular intervals as well. The student will also assist staff in carrying out all aspects of COVID protocols established for enhanced visitor safety within the Historic Gardens.
Duties will include some or all of the following:
- able and willing to work in a variety of conditions (inclement weather, distractions)
- able and willing to do shift work (weekends and evenings as required)
- ability to react to new situations and emergencies Hours of Work:
Contract length: 12 weeks Salary: $14.50 per hour Benefits:
Our COVID protocols meet or exceed provincial standards, but change as conditions change. We have various tools available to keep staff and visitors safe when needed, including masks, vaccination, distancing, & enhanced sanitization measures. Application question(s):

Duties will include some or all of the following:
- greeting visitors and providing information, tours to add to their experience
- duties as salesperson in Gardens Shop, admissions or Cafe
- assisting with activities and special events
- cleaning and sanitization of visitor facilities
- ensuring visitors are aware of COVID safety protocols and measures
- other duties as instructed by the Manager
- must interact well with co-workers
- practice proper and safe use of tools and equipment
- positive interaction with visitors and responding to their inquiries
- able to work independently with minimal supervision
- be vigilant about all COVID safety protocols
- good general knowledge of the Gardens and excellent knowledge on the area
- acceptable level of gardening and tourism knowledge and/or experience
- proper and safe use of tools, equipment and cleaners as directed
- physically able and willing to do physical work
- able and willing to work in a variety of conditions (inclement weather, distractions)
- able and willing to do shift work (weekends and evenings as required)
- ability to react to new situations and emergencies Hours of Work:
- Work Term: 12 weeks
- Hours: 35 hours per week. Half hour unpaid lunch.
Contract length: 12 weeks Salary: $14.50 per hour Benefits:
